Information we collect

We collect only what we need to respond to you and to run this website:

• Contact form details you choose to send: your name, organization, email, phone number, and the project details you share (service, vision, audience, timeline and budget range).
• Messages you send us by email or social media.
• Website usage data collected by Google Analytics through cookies: pages viewed, how you arrived at the site (for example a search engine or an AI assistant), approximate location (city level), device and browser type. We do not use this data to identify you personally.
• Basic technical logs kept by our hosting provider, such as IP address and request time, used for security and reliability.

How we use it

• To answer your inquiry, prepare a proposal, and deliver the work you hire us for.
• To understand which pages and films are useful to visitors, so we can improve the site.
• To keep the site secure and working.

What we never do

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information, and we do not add you to a mailing list without your consent.

Consent

By submitting the contact form or emailing us, you consent to us using your details to respond to you. By continuing to browse this site, you consent to the analytics cookies described above. You can withdraw consent at any time by contacting us, and you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings or with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Service providers we rely on

We share information only with providers that help us run the site, and only for that purpose. Some of them may store data outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be subject to local law.

• Netlify — website hosting and contact form processing.
• Google Analytics — website usage statistics.
• Vimeo — the video player used to show our films; it may set its own cookies when you play a video.
• Google Fonts — the typefaces used on this site.

How long we keep it

We keep inquiry details for as long as needed to respond and, if we work together, for the length of the project and our record-keeping obligations afterwards. Google Analytics data is kept for 14 months. When information is no longer needed, we delete it.

Your rights

Under Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), you can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or withdraw your consent. Email info@silkroadproduction.ca and we will reply within 30 days.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca.

Security

The site is served only over encrypted HTTPS connections, and access to inquiries is limited to our team. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
